Serenity

Rented out 'Serenity' on DVD on Friday, and spent a lovely couple of hours being entertained. Joss Whedon, director of the much misunderstood Buffy the Vampire Slayer, strikes again with a thoroughly watchable production. Don't imagine the film will be to everyone's taste as Cedric watched 10 mins of it with me, then went and got a book to read while still sitting beside me.
In a nutshell the film's a futuristic morality tale about a rebel band of space pirates who uncover the dark reality behind the new world order with the help of a psychic 16 year old. (who can kick better than Jackie Chang)
Yes, it sounds like bubble gum for the brain, but there's a fair wee bit of interesting philosophising and a good wholesome - tell the truth damn it - message for us all to absorb. If you fancy renting a DVD you could do a lot worse
