Mum's misfortune

The weekend started off really well with a curry in the Shebab Tandoori. About 9 of us were out for Claire's leaving as she starts her new job in Dalkeith. Felicitations et bonne chance! Good food and chat. Saturday was set to be equally good as mum came down from Dundee for a visit and we went shopping and had lunch in our local pub. Unfortunatley though, while she was driving home, just outside Stow, a large animal crossed in front of her car and she went off the road, hitting a tree, doing a few rolls and writing off the car. Thank goodness she was pulled out by kind passers by without any injuries. I was able to go and meet her at the accident site and then drive her to Kinross where dad met her in his car. A very sobering experience as it could have been a lot, lot worse for mum.
At night Cedric and I had a bunch of folks round to play games - stop the bus etc. (hurray) and today (Sunday) I'm off to Langholm to Mhairi's church to take part in their European themed service and tell them about Taize. (Alleluiah)
Advice today is drive safely and if an animal gets in front of your car just run it over.
