thanks Neil

I am very grateful for my brother today and in particular for his plumbing know how. We woke up to cold showers this morning and the central heating not working. Thankfully a few fairly simple instructions down the phone from Neil and the warm atmosphere we are accustomed to has been restored.

We're all doing well. Matthew has a pirate style cut on his face from falling over my shoes yesterday, and Cedric is getting pretty frustrated with the lack of Sky tv in the pubs in Selkirk. Still, as the Borders 'went digital' the other day we survived having to retune our BBC1 and BBC2 but are sad to have to throw away our wee tv in the bedroom. (I've had it for well over 12 years) What a waste.

Matthew and I enjoyed watching the remembrance day service by the memorial in Selkirk today. If 'enjoyed' is the right word. The silences speak volumes and are so powerful in our noisy culture. A small victory for us is that we managed to get Matthew to wear a hat which he normally refuses to. The persuasion involved me having to wear Cedric's hat to show him how 'cool' it is to wear a hat. Hmmmm

Enough of my blethers -'This is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it.' - hey!
